Volleyball Team Plays A&M
November 4, 2009 by Eric Morgan
The UAH volleyball team will play university Alabama A&M on Nov. 10.
A&M is a member of the Division I Southwestern Athletic Conference, while UAH is in the Division II Gulf South Conference. The Bulldogs have so far had an average season, with a record of (8-26).
“I’m very excited about this match. . . .They’re really good,” UAH team captain Allison Cousins said. Cousins also mentioned that one of her former high school volleyball teammates plays for the A&M Bulldogs.
The Lady Chargers have had some tough luck for the past two seasons. There are no seniors on this year’s team, and they are generally a very young team. “Last year was a building year,” Cousins said, “but I feel like we’re getting better.” It is hoped that next year will be more promising for the volleyball team, as most players will be returning with a full season’s worth of experience under their belts.
The A&M game will be played in Normal, Ala., in the T.M. Elmore Gym at A&M. The game begins at 7:00 p.m. on Nov. 10.
