Exhibition Game Against Vanderbilt
November 4, 2009 by Eric Morgan
The men’s basketball team will be playing Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., on at 7:00 p.m. on Nov. 10. This is an exhibition game, which is an unofficial, often preseason game. In fact, UAH is a Division II team in the Gulf South Conference, while Vanderbilt is Division I, South East Conference.
You may recall that the Chargers played Vanderbilt at this same time last year. After a close match, the Commodores came out victorious with a score of 84-65. Overall, the men’s team had a record of 17-11 in the 2008-09 season.
The Chargers are expected to do well this season; they were picked third in the Gulf South Conference preseason poll behind North Alabama and Valdosta State. Senior Cody Jones was picked for the All-GSC team, as well.
The Chargers will kick off the season with a home game against Carson-Newman at 7:30 p.m. on Nov 16.
