Barak ‘n’ Roll: Obama Comes to Bama

Presidential hopeful Barak Obama spoke at the University of Alabama in Birmingham on Sunday, January 27.

By the time the doors to Bartow Arena opened at noon, the line to get in wrapped well around the large campus block, though the rally did not officially begin until 1:30. Campus volunteers, young, hip-looking and mostly white, directed the crowd to fill out their contact information on the ticket and hawked Obama buttons: “ALObama,” “Barak-n-Roll,” and “Hot Chicks Dig Obama.”
